Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I fight for the man next to me.  It don't matter about me, what matters about me is sacrificing for you; for the ultimate goal which is us." -  Ray Lewis

Muted light gray floating above and a cool 54 to start.  Morning commuting cars of all shapes and sizes racing towards the finish line.  Walkers going against the current in search of solitude.  Parking is scarce as word of mouth has traveled fast of South being delivered.  Neoprene suits hung on car windows and boards being unwrapped with anticipation and hope that the rumors are true.  Only those who ask and believe will receive the true answer.

CHANNEL:  Small NW swell lingering in the Channel with a shapely S/SW rolling in.  Glassy, calm and shin high as the tide is slowly filling in.  As more water fills in, Mali-Bo should deliver the goods by afternoon with fun rights on the inside.  Currently one peak in the Channel proper with no one in the line up.

PATCH:  Oh South swell, how we've missed you!  You definitely are the life of the party.  The way you make an entrance to the room, with your smooth right and left style up to your waist;  there's nothing quite like it.  Maybe it's the charming swagger way you hang to the left or the charismatic confidence you exude on the right, either way everyone has fun when you are around.  Thank you for showing up we were worried you had gotten lost.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see" -  Mark Twain

Socked in gray as the orchestra of wild life keeps in humming rhythm tune.  Calm and still wind for now and open parking for easy school bus access.  Cool at 52 with water temps much of the same.  Early morning exercisers and bicycle riders getting their fix before starting the daily grind.  Calm water lapping the shore as dog walkers and four legged friends leave foot steps behind.  With open hearts and intentions set the work week begins.

CHANNEL:  Even smaller NW swell leftovers this morning as a new selective SW swells builds for later this week.  Ankle micro-waves rolling through Channel proper with little push mixed with white water.  Sea Drift side is much of the same as the swell is taking the day off.  No one out except for slick seals searching for tasty treats.

PATCH:  Horizontal, flat and no motion ocean commotion being served on today's menu.  Tables are open and no reservations required.  Happy hour prices are set for 2 for 1 in hopes of creating business later on.  For now, practice patience and wait.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother" -  Abraham Lincoln

Thick, dark and gray overshadowing the morning rising sun with a slight breeze and cool temps at 52.  Smells of bubbling pancakes with maple syrup are floating by as lovers of mothers join together in celebration of Mother's Day.  Today we salute all the Mother's and all the others who fill in as Mother's, as we all know we would be lost without you.  You love us at our worst and our best, catch us when we fall and help us get back up and show us what unconditional love truly is.  From all of us Mother lovers, we thank you, we honor you and we are proud to have you as our Mother.

CHANNEL:  Calm and flat conditions as the WNW swell is rolling in at a snails pace and at shin height.  Not much action happening over Mali-Bo to Sea Drift as the tide is slowly filling in nooks and crannies.  Water temp clocking in at a cool 52 confirming it's still bootie season.  Currently one beach walker meandering along picking up drift wood for future art projects.

PATCH:  A small group of modern elders wrapped in peach salmon guru blankets and buckled gladiator sandals are gathered contemplating the meaning of trucker hats and endless summers while watching flat air-rated white water.  The decision has been made, and with determination, Mike Hynson hats for all.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Make yourself sheep and the wolves will eat you." -  Benjamin Franklin

Brilliantine morning with early action and stirring from creatures large and small.  Most approach the water's edge with appreciation and wonder.  Skies start fully clear and sun has risen but swirling winds have brought portions of fog into the hamlet.  Temps of 55F which intitially felt warm.  Low level ocean texture and incoming morning tides a decent mix of components.  NW windswell grows incrementally and shifts angle.  SW swell declines in size but lengthens period.  All adding up to a day of beauty and stoke however you choose to find it and define it.

CHANNEL:  Still a fertile ground for NW swells and systematic sandbars keep the wheels churning along.  Hit and miss options with rights and lefts bearing into each other with an insider meeting inevitable.  Smooth and burnished gold in the early light.  Enough peaks popping in random localities to spread the masses and fuel the fire.

PATCH:  Back in business with a new SW swell a rejuvenating presence.  Small in stature but mighty in formation.  An efficient profile that best lends itself to Loggers and extreme board length.  Rock coverage throughout the day with tides filling until late morning.  You be the cheese and I'll be the macaronni.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." -  Winston Churchill

Chem trails above leading the way while a rising sun burns through the early mists.  Blue sky fills every void and temp restarts at 50F.  No initial winds though they did blow last night.  Water temps cooled out another degree and booties more in evidence than not.  Chunky NW windswell the singular source of ocean vibrations as the S has extinguished its run.  It's Friday people - start getting after it.

CHANNEL:  A steep-ish angle has directional aptitude heading right along the inner partition behind the Groin wall.  As one progresses across into the open Channel and over to Seadrift the vibe changes and lefts are appropriate and on offer.  Inside islands of sand mitigate some length of ride but the rising tide helps the cause.  Size mixture ranges from thigh to waist with energy levels varying according to depth.

PATCH:  Last gasps were last night and final rites were proclaimed.  Lack of swell the determining cause although other factors played their role.  Dribbles and small nibbles remain and boards 10' or longer are highly recommended if one attempts a revival.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact.  Everything we see is perspective, not the truth." -  Marcus Aurelius

Vibrant morning with early gatherers looking to get their fill.  Wildlife freely forages undisturbed while evening participants reset.  Sunny, cleared skies and 54F to get the party started.  NW windswell trends up while the SW holds in check.  Tide filling to a reasonable level and the visuals are stunning.  Overnite gusts now serve to groom and smooth.  But as the wind changed direction, and the temple band took five, the crowd caught a whiff of that crazy Casbah jive.

CHANNEL:  Finely formed sandbars await un-tethered NW swells.  The path to stoke is limited but aligned with a positive mental outlook and your attention to details.  Morning incoming activating inside the Groin wall with Mali-Bo rights as a reasonable option.  Deeper in the Channel and pushed over to Seadrift one may well encounter something more, though with a longer time lag between actions.

PATCH:  Water temps chilled out and down with recent side-shore winds.  Mid period SW swell is fickle yet fun when the stars align and the boards are long.  A duo judges and collaborates.  Free your mind and allow your feet to just follow.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention." - John Burroughs

Light S winds though we feel a bit sheltered as the mercury climbs to 58F.  Overcast and misty with fog and natural damp.  A general quiet as the midweek pace starts leisurely.  Wind-borne swells have accumulation from the west and are finding their ways to our embankments.  Morning tides at levels above zero making for opportunities and alternatives to choose from.

CHANNEL:  NW and SW windswells collectively in motion.  Finding footing in the Channel proper where depths increase and sandbars have formulated a plan.  Rights drifting through and bearing benefits to suit the longboard movement.  Tide has peaked and now works on an outward flow so if not now then later.

PATCH:  Rejuvenated with minor revolutions that spin freely and approach knee height.  Plenty of W in the activated swells has angles fixated and curving within expected boundaries.  Four experimenters partake with 2 standing tall and 2 prone.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Laughter is timeless.  Imagination has no age.  And dreams are forever." - Walt Disney

Quilted gray patches blanketing blue as the sun rises and tries to peek through.  Less wind with more of a strong breeze as morning critters chat and say hello.  Leashed dogs walking while looking in different directions as a great blue heron searches for breakfast treats in the grass.  Dawn patrol warriors discuss options and map out plans for where the next board meeting will take place.  Choose the venue and stick to the plan as it's always better to get wet.

CHANNEL:  Slow motion ocean commotion as the NW swell is meandering it's way through.  Tiny in size through the Channel, clocking in around ankle with shin on the Sea Drift side.  Lots of lumps and bumps on the surface, as the windy breeze is here to stay.  With tide washing out, one fisherman has claimed his spot on Channel Island for casting his spell.

PATCH:  Perfect conditions for skipping rocks multiple times.  Find the smoothest, flattest rock you can find, get the best angle, throw and watch as it skips across the flat, still surface.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." - Winston Churchill

A fresh start to the weekly grind commences with the usual routine patterns and familiar faces.  Big bright ball of yellow rising against a crystal blue backdrop.  Strong wind whipping through braided hair as leaves fall and float away.  A quiet can be heard through the parking lot while making way to the sandy shore.  Down the ramp sand figures snap their fingers and travel with the breeze.  Stepping one foot in front of the other, deciding on whether to stay or go while holding on tight in the breeze.

CHANNEL:  Off shore wind ruffles and deep patterns fighting against the NW swell.  Tide dropping this morning and revealing sandy bottoms all around.  Shin high waves forming on the outside Sea Drift side with little push and no white water.  As the tide changes and water fills in, chances of knee rides and slides look promising.  Currently one dog out searching for his lost ball.

PATCH:  Bumpy blue surface creeping back, making way for a rocky texture.  Chatty catty bobbing birds discussing the mornings news as seals float on by.  Take this moment to recharge crystals in geometric formations for future wave energy.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You are more powerful than you know; you are beautiful just as you are." - Melissa Etheridge

Dancing leaves on tree limbs initiates the rhythm for this morning's song.  Thick fog overhead, keeping the sun tucked in for morning rest.  Confusing discussions over whose turn it is to put another coin in the dryer can be heard far and wide.  Parking is full from overnight campers and tides are lacking who time their slides with nature.  Lemoore land locked surfers have no tide restraints and waves are rolling in every 4 minutes at a perfect head height with a finishing green room barrel.  Whichever water's edge you find yourself standing, enjoy the experience and take in the moment.

CHANNEL:  Ankle bitters and toe snatchers hitting Channel Island at a snails pace.  WNW swell seems to have gotten lost on the journey to shore as lake Bolinas is back in action.  Low tide this morning peaks and with fingers and toes crossed, hopefully with more water, slides in the shin zone will come in.

PATCH:  Shallow, blue and flat with rocky points all around.  Plenty of sand to create geometric patterns with crystal in-lays for recharging.  Read a book and caffeinate the soul to pass time in hopes that the tide will bring afternoon delight.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Everyone gets the experience.  Some get the lesson." - T. S. Eliot

Moon haze through a fog craze as we try to predict the future.  The lightest of winds from the NE, the faintest of blue above sets the prospect towards warm weather.  Negligible composite of swells along with dropping tides keeps suits dripping for later hour actions.  Those up and along the wall trying to make the call of should I stay or should I go?

CHANNEL:  Ankle deep with limited treats unless you embark upon a bit of a paddle journey to deeper regions.  Tide comeback will lend a bit of push to help emphasize the NW swell remainders into a format we can all translate.  Don't give up, give in.

PATCH:  Masses of minerals.  Crusts and crags.  Those that remain covered lurk just beneath the surface.  Ankle runners for the big log sect.  Mind the inside exits and protect your fins, feet, hands, knees, elbows and head.  Afternoon options go calf high or better.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"We think too much and feel too little." - Charlie Chaplin

Early clearing of coastal clouds though temp has dipped down to 48F to start the day.  Predicted sun and inland warmth on our minds as the weekend approaches.  Wide dip and low tide mornings continue and confound.  All initial efforts are not to be thwarted as gradient swells endure and stoke clings to life.  Fickle options under the low water conditions with afternoons holding more engagement.

CHANNEL:  Somewhat steep though not too deep with NW windswell trending down.  Just enough water to stimulate function and longboards forge ahead into the shallows.  Finless may be the way to go as depths are only measured in inches now.

PATCH:  A lone paddler skirts rocky outcroppings and sets sights on the far reaches of his mind.  A flat-water excursion awaits for now while tide resets and rises.  SW swell numbers check all the boxes to provoke antennas to rise.  Ready the log and free up your evening.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." - George Bernard Shaw

Less wind, more overcast and light drizzle, slightly more of a negative low tide.  52F, calm, peaceful, damp but no initial objects of desire visible.  Swells on the fade but still with positive angles to reach our shores and deliver.  Timing is everything and water is essential.  Late morning has potential for next visual assessment.  Afternoon holds promises untold and much fuller tides.

CHANNEL:  Froth over exposed sand islands and a bare Groin wall as a backdrop.  NW windswell is willing but not able.  Seagull sounding board says, "Try Wait for later."

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Always plan for the fact that no plan ever goes according to plan." - Simon Sinek

Early S winds and low low tide not a conducive recipe for conjuring some stoke.  New swells in the field of play but requiring more water to set the record straight.  53F and overcast, misty, but sun efforting to break through.  Easy auto shuffle with all spaces open and welcoming.  A steep ramp gets you on the way to exploration.  Bundle up now and imbibe hot java.  Who knows what the later will bring?

CHANNEL:  Textured and slightly tattered in the throes of a low tide morning.  Inching its way back to level and above will take into the lunchtime hours.  NW swell occupation may well portray itself upon higher resources.  For now it is the domain of the dog walkers and bird hawkers.

PATCH:  Rocky with more rocks than surf.  Lots of sand as well.  More sand than surf and probably actually more sand than rocks but the rocks are bigger and it makes it seem that there is more of them but the grains of sand likely outnumber the rocks exponentially with surf lagging well behind both.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"At the beach, life is different.  Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment.  We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras

Beams of sun streaming through branches and nothing but blue above.  A chill in the air at 45 as the wind is elsewhere.  Parking is plenty and the quick jaunt to the ramp remains quiet for now.  A few fishermen with tackle at arms length and caffeine in hand taking steps towards their secret spots on the Channels edge.  Searching for signs of energy on the ocean blue, while feeling the sun's warmth and anticipation for the day's salty session.

CHANNEL:  Low tide with little water and a weak NW swell.  A natural bridge is currently occupying space across the Channel to the Sea Drift side.  Little energy in the water and waves creeping in on the outside in the ankle to shin zone.  No one out except for playful seals playing games of hide and seek.

PATCH:  Even: /even/ - adjective:  flat, smooth, uniform, level.  Equally balanced.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." - Albert Einstein

Morning vibrations from truck engines delivering the goods.  Singing song birds humming tunes in sync as the sun rises with a warm hello.  50 degrees with a slight wind as morning walkers and school goers start the daily parade.  Crystallized salty sand glistening on the boat ramp and beyond to the waters edge with scattered crispy seaweed.  Take a deep breath, pause and enjoy the view.

CHANNEL:  Sluggish WNW swell meandering at a slow pace as a NW off shore wind ruffles feathers of birds flocking together.  Much smaller in size and energy as knee high waves roll in through the Channel.  One hard core swimsuit swimmer out completing laps before her work day begins.  As tide returns and fills in, there's a slight chance conditions will improve.

PATCH:  Rocky tips poking through dark blue creating a morning obstacle course. No motion or commotion coming through with a grainy pattern on the oceans surface.  It' a perfect moment to cleanse and recharge crystals with positive energy for the week ahead.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"There is only one map to the journey of life and it lives within your heart." - Willie Nelson

Damp streets from scattered overnight rain drops with a light breeze tickling nose tips.  Iridescent clouds lingering overhead greeting the sun with positive salutations.  No parking in sight as overnight campers and dawn patrol warriors have already secured their spots in and out of the line up.  Conversations of fin designs and board lines can be heard over coffee and pastries as wet neoprene and salty sticks are on the ready.  No rest for the wicked on this day of leisure.

CHANNEL:  Off shore WNW wind creating texture and pattern on the incoming tide.  WNW and S swell are holding for now with a bakers dozen spread out.  Chest on the Sea Drift side with waist clocking in Channel Proper.  Mali-Bo starting to wake up slightly and as water fills the space, party waves for all.  The letter of the day is "P"; Patience with Parking and wave Position.

PATCH:  Lines across the board as far as the eye can see with glassy eyes.  Outside and inside buckets full of nuggets with extra BBQ sauce on the left side.  Over a dozen already claiming their spots for the best meal in town.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop

A nice serene early calm that allows for moments of meditation and contemplation.  Skies are clearing to blue, winds remain asleep and temp begins at 50F.  Early lower tides an issue at dawn and now filling in and up.  Not too high - just right.  The water infiltration giving just an extra push as current swells retreat and weaken.  Parking slots are slim as heat #1 is already underway in the water.

CHANNEL:  Still a left spinner that can engage the senses.  A decrease in size but form holds as does function.  Well out the back longboards wait for sets not yet in sight.  The middle ground has hidden sandbars and rollers rear up and fold over in succession.  Not enough early water to motivate Mali-Bo action but soon come and worth a look.

PATCH:  Non-textured morning as the overnight flurries had a prevailing calm.  Low tide rock exposition is to be seen but not felt or heard.  Skirt the danger zones while heading right on waist high rollers.  Some paddling distance must be accrued with most action happening in the deeper district.  Leave the mid-lengths home, today is Loggerville.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Do what you have to do, to do what you want to do." - Denzel Washington

Mottled skies changing colors as the minutes pass.  Car camper coffee and sore knee commiserations.  52F and winds remain quiet early.  Calico cats stalk early prey while others get the bacon sizzling.  Dripping suits and stinking boots will be again pulled on and over limbs.  Residual swells remain steady with a gradual fade.  Perhaps a joining of forces is at play with both spots exhibiting stoke inducing attributes.

CHANNEL:  Revolving lefts spinning in the deeper Channel waters.  Size has grown though swell slowly dissolves.  Chest to shoulder is easily achievable.  Tide still filling in keeping the Mali-Bo inside right activated though of a tamer stature.  Short boards can and will work if that is your true calling.  Linden Boulevard represent, represent.

PATCH:  Some special sauce in the air or water as S swell remains nearly too steep to insinuate itself among these waters yet has crashed the party and raised the roof.  Even fully flushed with tide rights roll through and lefts out the northern back.  There are some stylin and profilin, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling and dealing son's of guns getting their slide on today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Courage is more exhilarating than fear, and in the long run, it is easier." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Pale pockets of blue materializing as the sun rises to the challenge and breaks through.  Calm and 55F with no winds felt or visible.  Applicants approach with the incoming tide in and effort to mine stoke and find early slides.  NW swell remains active though slackening.  S swell continues a steep approach which plays hit and miss with the coastline.  A smoothness prevails and a day full of potential awaits.

CHANNEL:  Getting in and on while the day is young will elicit the incoming tidal attack as it forges through Mali-Bo and the inside Channel.  Some potent dumpers on the lesser bottoms while the sandbars reconfigure.  As the day unfolds the outgoing tide will confiscate and clean then abandon all waters leaving little to work with and even less to ride.  Choose wisely friends.

PATCH:  A trio traverses the distance then spreads far and wide.  With higher water levels rocks are no worry but knowing their location will help you find an appropriate take off zone.  South swell still on the steeper angled side and not fully actuated to our frequencies.  Thigh high cruiser waves are the scene to dig on today.
