Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“The distance is nothing when one has a motive.” - Jane Austen

Frosty feelings, bone chilling to the core, the sun, she rises spreading her golden brilliance abound. Beginning temps nippy at 40 with a rise to 53 by afternoon, resulting in layer upon layers for warmth and comfort. Holiday travelers mixed in with the usual motley crew, as preparations are well under way, coming and going. Neoprene stretching, both dry and wet ending with a quick zip up or down, leaves no question to the wondering mind. All time is real time and if you’ve got it why wait?

CHANNEL: Blazing sun casting warmth upon the few who have braved the cold. W swell calm and relaxed, rolling in the knee height for those who choose to enter. The window soon to close, with the in-coming high tide in afternoon, proving time is of the essence. Get suited and booted while you can.

PATCH: Horizon line levels deceive the two whom are chasing the dream by themselves. Check your egos at the door and hide on the inside.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” - Marcel Proust

Golden amber yellow hues fill spaces in between gathered groups from near and far, all on the same mission. Crowded surroundings high on the wall clutching coffee for warmth and filling up on vitamin D, while mapping out mental directions. Spoken words in vapor clouds as temps begin at 42 feeling the chill deep within. Easy access quickly fading for tidal swings rush the ramp early. The first step is the hardest part.

CHANNEL: More organized and regular than not, and no wind playing tag with the surface. W swell falling into line though high tidal swing in full effect. Multiple peaks across for the dozen out, though most are missing the starting line. Inside is the best side and adding an extra paddle is the secret sauce to rides and slides at the thigh height.

PATCH: A few hopefuls not believing what they are seeing, venture out with hopes and dreams for more. Holding on to the belief, they quickly realize the mirage is in fact reality, and ocean levels rise. Forward motion coming from reflection waves the only white water to ride.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Your lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” - Don Williams

Night lurkers and stoke searchers gather at the edge of the village in preparation for the early plunge. Entry and exit are easily accomplished as the tide won’t grow to great heights until the lunch hour. Current swells still firing on all cylinders but the recent storms have taken their toll on the sand beneath. Skies are clearing with evolving colors not seen in recent days and the temp holds steady at 49F. Search within as rewards are out there for the taking but wise choices must be made to maximize potential.

CHANNEL: Unrefined and lightly defined rollers from the depths break the surface plane at random intervals. The outside breakers offer more manageable forms with the higher tide keeping it soft and pliable. Within the inner sanctum interesting transformations occur with shallow purchases unleashing spin cycle variations. A resolved and considered approach may yield some effective slides.

PATCH: Not nearly as organized as the hopeful masses wish as swell direction dictating scraps and offshoots in the offering. The determined are not deterred and have spread themselves far and wide with more inspiration than calculation. Swarming waters can overwhelm some while the lesser evils graciously push.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Dig a little deeper. Think of something we’ve never thought of before.” - A. A. Milne

Heavy metal vibes coupled with perma-gloom as we enter another day of undefined outlooks and adventure. Significant swell increase and coming from two distinct angles of inception have wide swaths of beach the object of much interest. An unhinged quality to the sea with growing tide and burgeoning breakers up and down the seashore. Those that heed the call may mine some stoke and engage in fruitful endeavors.

CHANNEL: At first light and first glance shadows of some size are cast by breakers. Walls of water about the head and neck look welcoming and have induced far more bodies into the depths than reason or logic would dictate. Sands pushed about by recent storms have the arena well distributed and spread out to avoid clusters and congestion. A smattering of smoothness is observed as the winds lay calm and may continue to remain abated.

PATCH: Put my bony fingers on my sliding coffin. Drag it upon the rag. It’s the kinda of thing we gotta do. Kill my inspiration. Drowning in your station-wagon.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“It is neither wealth nor splendor; but tranquillity and occupation which give you happiness.” - Thomas Jefferson

Another day of mist, moisture and mystery with the unknown lurking around every turn. Signals and signs are barely visible as the ocean rages in the background. While the skies remain grey and damp the winds have gathered themselves and moved along to other destinations. The temp is a mild 56F and air is charged with the smell of sea and tumult. A small brigade of sliders brave the elements and obstacles to attempt inroads and beachheads while the ocean tries to rebuke with metric tons of water. Same as it ever was.

CHANNEL: A triumphant trio survives the initial onslaught and now bobs about upon mini mountains of water. W swell double ups has the energy focused yet overwhelming at the same time. While more of a waking nightmare in the current moment, periods of calm may soothe the facade and open windows of opportunity for serious slides. The tide is peaking and then draining so plan wisely if at all. Let the water hold me down.

PATCH: A broken field of disorder, disappointment and unrest. A buffet of unlimited despair. A few foolhardy are giving it the hazy eye and may well don neoprene with misguided ambition and confidence. One’s efforts may be more wisely exerted on other pursuits or preparation for crystal charging and cleansing taking place under tonight’s full moon.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Chaos is the score upon which reality is written.” - Henry Miller

Hazy daze and a mist the feels permanent as we enter the world of sand and fog at present. Attempts to paint an accurate picture of the current conditions falls short as a murk both mental and physical weighs in the dense morning air. Sliders have likely sought solace elsewhere and the number in the observation posts are thin. The views provided are of a growing tide, fury and frustration all signifying the null set.

CHANNEL: The seas grow with storm wrought energy and swelling tide to pound proverbial fists against sand. The resolute steel marker provides thin reference outlines in the mist and remains mainly submerged. Perhaps upon receding waters a shape may form to meet a slider’s needs, but that is uncertain and certainly unwritten.

PATCH: A refined frenzy of terrible beauty as forms heave into undefined light. Shapes are only suggestions and shadows of merit are not to be found. No rhyme and no rhythm with only confusion reigning supreme.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without words - and never stops at all.” - Emily Dickinson

Following painted white lines, walking in the center, gazing straight ahead as the mind wanders far and wide. A clear line drawn, orange yellow and gray a key indication somethings on the horizon. A party of one planted on the wall, perched in silence sure footed, watching and waiting. Calm surfaces cover below as high tide offerings float tree trunks forward. Ti’s the calm before another storm.

CHANNEL: Swollen high tide and the beach has disappeared for now. WNW swell slow moving as water levels are too high to break through. Gray and glassy with no white water as far as the eye can see. No one around for miles ahead, except for two seals swiftly swimming. Glance again this afternoon and hope for the best.

PATCH: We’re off to see the wizard. The wonderful Wizard of Oz. We hear he is a wiz of a wiz. If ever a wiz there was. The Wizard of Oz is one because, because of the wonderful things he does. We’re off to see the wizard, The wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“It’s the mind itself which shapes the body.” - Joseph Pilates

Hidden shadows coated thick with moisture while the sun plays hide and seek behind gray curtains. Feeling the chill as temperatures hover 50 with cold damp penetrating deep within. An 8 white finger reading as the heater works over time blowing into space. Parking is plenty, except for the reunited dawn patrol members whom gather and chat in various states of undress. Out yonder, the silky gray surface a welcomed sight to see, for the ocean has calmed and is accepting visitors once again.

CHANNEL: High tide swinging, almost touching the top of the bottom groin sign. W swell calming from the wind resulting in mellow action. Glassy from the start, one peak forming with a white water finish in the shin to knee height. Practice patience and wait for the out going tide for better shape and form.

PATCH: A two person stand up crew hunting and pecking for tid-bits here and there. A single seal joins in on the journey swirling around for fun. Ankle bitters for now with hopes of knee slappers later.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“There are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors.” - Jim Morrison

Muted yellow playing hide and seek behind dark gray as silence echoes through our tiny town. Dampened earth scented thick as swollen streams babble and gossip with travel as morning walkers set the pace. Walking a zig-zagged line down towards where land meets sea, spots are taken by those who cannot fight the feeling any longer. A deep rooted urge, one that is only tamed by a cold salty plunge.

CHANNEL: Half a dozen desperado’s out searching for something while taking it on the head. Post wind storm churn mixing on high as currents have no direction on where to go. WS wind swell creating white water foaming mess with no real form to ride. For now, sit back and stay warm until tides turn.

PATCH: Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses. Don’t your feet get cold in the winter time? The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine. It’s hard to tell the night time from day. And you’re loosing all your highs and lows. Ain’t it funny how the feeling goes.

Furious winds and intermittent bouts of rain as nature again unleashes its seasonal offerings. The damp hangs heavy and chaos reigns upon the seas which are of permanent froth and whitewater confusion. Unrelenting tumult and breakers without form are the norm for the day and everything gets viewed through a lens of murk and mayhem. Inhospitable in the absolute.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“There is peace even in the storm.” - Vincent Van Gogh

Preparation for precipitation as madness brews along with the morning java. Winds picking up steam and swirling from the SW while the sky remains tattered and shows portals of sun and blue surrounded by grey menace. The seas heave and bellow with no format or discernible direction. Ominous tones float through the air and most observers turn to retreat. Hunker down to let it pass or make like the intrepid trio and find the stoke within the situation.

CHANNEL: Consistent walls of disorganized sheet and spray crash into each other and scorned concrete walls. Entering the breach will require a heady mix of foolhardy resolve and a touch of insanity. Nice work if you can get it and at least a modicum of exercise can be mined from the experience.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“The way we do things is to begin.” - Horace Greeley

A brief respite and visions of sun as we await further integrations. Ample parking tells the tale with a decided lack of activity upon the morning waters. Early high tides set low vibes while new swells of consequence have yet to materialize. The winds are calm and the temp is a pleasant 52F in the present moment. Opportunity lies in having a keen eye and upon lesser tides pre-lunch and beyond. Shapes are available though indistinct under a heavy blanket of brine.

CHANNEL: Shapes that may cast shadows appear at irregular intervals like that of the unwanted visitor. Those addressing the undertaking do so in fits and spurts hoping to mine a portion of stoke to carry through the day. Though the moments ahead are heavy with promise, that will require patience and expert timing to elude the next bout of rain and wind.

PATCH: Them of the paddle tribe have the early advantage as the action requires the extra propulsion of the carbon fiber shaft. Closer observation finds inside packets of stoke that the logger can attest rings full of positivity. Still some S windswell to fuel the hunt and less water may well help the cause and effect.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Even when the winds of misfortune blow, amazing things can still happen.” - Gabriel Garcia Marquez

A haze and mist of meaning sheds no light as we gaze into the heart of darkness this fine morning. While no inner truths are revealed the field of play is visible and unblemished. The gusts are not for the timid yet they blow currently from the NE and serve as grooming fodder for a storm-disturbed sea. Parking remains largely vacant save for 2 dedicated amigos holding it down and keeping stoke alive and kindled. Tides are not your enemy this day and a portal through which to attempt slides has already opened though tempered expectations should be at the fore.

CHANNEL: A left of varying shape and form finds purchase along the solidified sandbars and under a dropping tide elicits interest if not outright excitement. Most action is derived from earlier SW windswell but there is an underlying current from the W that is real and finite. Find your line or don’t but the opportunity exists to get wet on land or in the sea.

PATCH: Close out offerings and final holiday bargains can be obtained with the occasional gem discovered. The deals are spare but available though no takers currently for what serves as seasonal options. Eventually the lights and tree has to get put up.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.” - Earl Nightingale

Bright yellow cracks through a silver lining swirled with light blue as dawn breaks clear without rain. Humidity high mixed with hot air full of cool breeze, as temps hover at 52. Calm are the winds that are visiting else where, leaving a welcomed atmospheric stillness abound. The sea, she be mighty and less restless than days past, though her energy remains mixed with emotion. A couple gather and chat perched high, wondering if the time is now.

CHANNEL: Lumpy and bumpy leftovers from the storm as the W wind swell has calmed. No real shape to indicate the take off spot, yet much cleaner than it has been for days. Those who are thirsty for a salty drink, may take the plunge on the head before finding their way. For now, the only ones fighting through the white water are fishing boats off to sea.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Never be so focused on what you’re looking for that you overlook the thing you actually find.” - Ann Patchett

Shades of gray cast shadows above while continual rain falls silently below. Blustery winds have subsided to a constant strong flow for now, as we brace for more of the same. Descending down the ramp, wet grumbles from a moody ocean sets the background tempo for the main act. White cap foamy motion ebbing and flowing in no particular direction, while the wind plays another round of tag. Find comfort indoors with hot beverages in hand while waiting for the storm to pass.

CHANNEL: More chaos ensues all across Channel proper, as the wind has its way with the ocean. Stormy and white washed, the W swell is knocked out of place resulting in non-ride-able seasick sludge. Keeping fingers crossed, the pause in weather tomorrow will bring salty slides for those who are seeking.

PATCH: A white out of the ocean variety, covers the clam patch like a thick woolly blanket. Tucked in tight around the edges, not letting anything in nor out. Cyber Mondays deals look promising as a way to pass time for the day.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Wherever you go, no matter the weather, always bring your own sunshine.” - Anthony J. D’Angelo

Dark as night, void of all color, the morning sky is wickedly windy and wet. Remnants of fence art pieces scattered like tooth picks, far beyond their original anchors as the winds proved to be the almighty. Fighting to stand atop the wall, foamy mass chaos mixes with howling winds, creating a unraveling blanket of white out proportions. Sideways rain the icing on the cake as all who catch a glance are soon to head back to where they came.

CHANNEL: Abandon all hope ye who enter here. High winds ripping through the oceans surface with gale force, leaving no stone unturned. Frothy white foam tears from the waters edge, flying up in circles landing miles away. No shape or wave of any kind, nor is it a day to test Mother Nature.

PATCH: Furious winds scream

Swallowed by walls of water

Tumultuous seas

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” - John Wooden

Morning falls heavily towards rocky shores and craggy coasts. The air is leaden with menace and no sun will be evidenced today. The zephyrs howl and the slider’s fate is held in the natural elements at play. The seabirds coast upon the gusts looking for action while the seekers bundle against the chill and view the grim outlook to strategize options.

CHANNEL: Washed and whacked with wind and lacking swell. Gales and surges mix with middling tides to create a soup of no nourishment and cast a pall of disappointment among the true believers.

PATCH: You can put me out on the street. Put me out, with no shoes on my feet. But, put me out, put me out, put me out of misery.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“The secret of happiness is to count your blessings while others are adding up their troubles.” - William Penn

Frosted toes and runny nose as the first chill of consequence takes hold in the early hours. Rumors of the sun’s warmth may prove to be true as it shines brightly under cleared and blue skies. Temp ringing true at 34F but with no winds feels only 34F. The breakers that remain have been sublimated and groomed with higher tides keeping the landings soft and serene. Early sliders find brilliant light and ample action to work off the multiple feasts most engaged in yesterday. As always, the day is what you make it but holding a PMA is a mandatory rule.

CHANNEL: A solitary tactician makes his way through slow ripples to an uncertain future. Even the calmer winds spit a degree of froth from atop small rollers breaking the surface plane. Without seeking there will be no answers and today’s questions have only begun to be asked.

PATCH: A duo from the stand tall Tribe of the Paddle navigate in circles seeking what may well not exist in the 3rd dimension. Western borne swell may be allowed to enter over the reef as the tide continues its rise of glory but the stoke one seeks has yet to manifest.

WE ARE CLOSED TODAY FOR THANKSGIVING.

WE WILL BE OPEN FRIDAY AT 10:00AM

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” - Voltaire

First dousing of the season leaves us semi-quenched and chilled out with temp of 42F under vaguely clearing skies. Blessings for no winds but seas remain roiled, steep and heavy. The simple act of gaining a vantage point requires fast footwork and keen eyes on approaching breakers as the tide rises to heights of greatness. No rain falls and while it may a day better suited to hot tea and sympathy, there are those dedicated to pursuing slides. Persistent shapes cast shades in the muffled light that present challenges worth the attempt at conquering.

CHANNEL: Grey gazes along with moon phases empty themselves into great quantities of churning waters. The usual suspects undertake this venture and the stalking of big game with the outer Channel bar heaving hefty hordes of liquid hither and yon. Peak high tide may smooth the facade but also make entrance and exit more treacherous than expected.

PATCH: The approach is limited and harried with confusion in everlasting amounts. A duo does seek to find solace within the miasma though better results may be achieved in the later hours as the tide takes a ride further south.
