Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“All you need is love. And a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” - Charles M Schulz

Muted yellow fading fast behind dark gray, as a storm brews off the horizon soon to hit landfall. Dawn patrol warriors, already dripping wet and salty, head north for dry clothing, squeezing one last ride in before natures magic begins. In coming tide creeping up the ramp before the high surge begins. The open window is now, fly through while you can.

CHANNEL: Smooth surface as no wind has arrived, though water levels prove challenging. W swell loosing energy, with waves on the Sea Drift side in the knee range. Across Channel proper, mass amounts of water flow at an uneven pace. Inside is the best side as outside isn’t what you think.

PATCH: You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Happiness is itself a kind of gratitude.” - Joseph Wood Krutch

Strong morning breeze easing trees into yoga positions above, while dust swirls in circles below. Golden hues rise forward though temps remain hovering at 48 with a slight climb to 58 for the daily high. Water surge roaring up the ramp with great force, proving the ocean is the almighty queen. Thumping and bumping, mass levels of water reach new heights off the top of the wall, leaving no dry spots. The entry is tricky, be ware and use good judgement.

CHANNEL: Ruffled and textured surface from 14 knot winds mixed with an in-coming high tide, resulting in less than ideal conditions. W swell much lower than days past as the Channel feels the burn with churning currents. A half dozen scattered trying to stay in place for a chance at the knee high sets, as long as they bring an extra paddle. Out going tide may yield better results.

PATCH: Water, water, every where, and not a drop to drink. No room to spread out, as the swelling high tide pours in, leaving no stone upturned. Time is of the essence and now is the time to wait until afternoon.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Knowledge isn’t power until it is applied.” - Dale Carnegie

Endless silence broken on repeat by rumbles and mumbles of in coming cars searching for space. The great neoprene stretch has begun, as wave hunters prepare for battle shivering half clothed until the final zipper is set in place. Water surging up the ramp before draining back, creates a tricky water entry for all. Sure footed, not rushing, make sure the timing is perfect. Those on the look out tower, quickly covered in water, dry clothes no more, from the sheets of back spray off the wall. To look is to second guess, just go!

CHANNEL: Mass amounts of dotted black spots all across the Channel in no particular order. Peaks and valleys of all shapes and sizes left and right as the traffic jam builds. Know your level and pick your spot wisely, if waist or chest is your vibe. Respect thy neighbor and remember your safety circle.

PATCH: Half a dozen sit looking right wondering if the grass is greener. Water flowing at an all time high, with the swell wrap around at a minimum. Swelling ocean motion, leaving no room to spread out until the drain out begins.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Nothing expands possibilities like unleashed imagination.” - William Arthur Ward

The sun and good vibes shine brightly on our little seaside village and the early air is 45F. Already warm puffs of NE ambience are being felt and the day has buzz and excitement to spare. Real multi-directional swells have the coconut wireless network humming and parking has already dwindled to the null set. Prime shapes are abundant and high tide has water masses in swirling movement and dampening concrete abutments. A day to challenge limits and to make wise decisions as well. Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

CHANNEL: Slides of quality and quantity are available as well as large closed out sections of chaos. Spacial awareness and positioning will be an important though underutilized parameter in determining one’s full enjoyment and participation. Some lefts make the connection while others short circuit but rest assured all come crashing down. Mind the outgoing tide as it has ripping desires and may serve to reshape the breakers but also pull those unaware out to sea.

PATCH: A dozen or more devotees seek the stoke in the land of the clam Patch this morning. High tide making for a more circuitous journey to enter the fray but the benefits outweigh the efforts. Outside rights are being liberated though watch the last steep as it arrives steeper and deeper than anticipated. Girl you know I’m packing heat.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” - Albert Einstein

Sunrise surmise as the path to the sea is well traveled in the early hours. Brilliance from above to help warm those below but we start at 47F and require hot java injections. The zephyrs inflict no chaos and remain calmed but primed. High tides making for damp scampers past asphalt and concrete walls. Seabirds scan from above in the search of morning morsels while the sliders reap the gifts of collaborated W swells optimally suited for logging the region.

CHANNEL: The golden sands of summer are but a memory and replaced by stone and pebble. Whitewater curls make themselves known along the area with a code that is not impossible to crack. Tide seeking heights above the norm has softened the surge and requires foam and fiberglass of longer length. Outgoing waters may well clean the curves and allow for more form to shine through the chaff.

PATCH: Activity levels range low on the Compound Matrix Scale as a function of too much water swallowing the push. Oscillations are seen but not yet felt until well along the interior shore. Keep a keen eye on the area and be mindful of the charts for the window will open to those using the third eye and channeling the crystal spirit.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” - John Wooden

From pebbled perches we view ocean lurches and dream about what could be and what has already been. Slight chill in the morning air but the sun’s beams warm the skin and all faces turned upwards. Swells still seek to find purchase but under higher water levels than optimum thereby reducing morning activity. One observes ample parking and only a few neoprene clad shamans at this hour. High tides and low vibes have the waiting game being played. Opportunity lies in the later morning into afternoon when the waters recede and more formatted shapes may emerge from the sand and brine.

CHANNEL: The Groin pole sits in deeper waters than is the custom and silently presides over the undulations. Canine residents make the most of the scenario with early dampened romps while those with dreams of slides are poised atop sand blasted seawalls. Uncertainty is in the air as the cleaner shapes of yesterday have vanished in the new light.

PATCH: The search for answers is the slider’s task with swell angles indicating the portent of more though the eye sees less. Closer inspection may illuminate the corners and provide the slight impetus to direct hopefuls this way. The existence of breakers may be limited or uncertain but the effort to mine the stoke is very much real.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Nothing is absolute. Everything changes, everything moves, everything revolves, everything flies and goes away.” - Frida Kahlo

A demonstrative and thermal breeze with wind swept sands as we greet an otherwise perfect morning. New signals from the sea have pieces in place for the slider’s puzzle. The challenge, this day, will be fitting them together to meet your needs and abilities. The zephyrs may have intentions of party crashing and bringing friends up to no good, but for now they blow accordingly and the airs are a ripe 64F. Full of sun and festive for Fall. I always expect more from a varsity letterman.

CHANNEL: The suited and booted find the early light and rising tide to practice the water dance of our predecessors. Blinding sunlight beckons all that are up for the challenge as steep faces are abundant and size has grown accordingly. The mid-length game is strong today with a dose of Fall energy setting a stage for a chosen few participants.

PATCH: A forlorn zone of dashed hopes and realizations stands in for anything resembling shape or form. Shadows exist but with ill intent and no validity. Take note and take heed.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Never dull your shine for somebody else.” - Tyra Banks

Easy breeze building slowly, fluttering leaves floating, while the sun rises to play. Brisk at 50 not tipping the point beyond 57 for a low high. Anticipation builds, as the rumors have started for another power outage to begin soon. Gas cans begin to emerge, with cash on hand as we organize candle formations with matches. Seize the day, drenched in bright sun and fill up with vitamin D.

CHANNEL: Nature’s playground open for all, yet only one lone traveler partakes. Mild WNW swell on the horizon with crumbling white water in the knee height through Channel proper. Sea Drift side showing cleaner formation at a sharp angle for those who are game for the extra paddle. The longer the better when choosing sled size, if salty intentions are what you seek.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Sometimes the longest journey we make is the sixteen inches from our heads to our hearts.” - Elena Avila

Bright lemon yellow casting dark shadow tree animals without a hint of cloud above. Delivery trucks on early morning schedules drop off the goods before hours of operation begin. Hammers fall, hitting nails square on the head as background silence is broken and crumbles. Early to bed, early to rise as the workday begins in town. Most head through trees and over hills, while a select few stay planted in place. The journey, not counted in length, but in mileage from within.

CHANNEL: Vast open sand, a playground for four legged friends, warms from the sun shining above. No breeze felt as a evaporating haze reflects off the oceans surface. W swell has retreated and all that remains are ankle bitters in Channel proper. Two warriors out patrolling, releasing their inner child and splash in delight.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“When you become the image of your own imagination, it’s the most powerful thing you could ever do.” - RuPaul

Silver linings give way as golden sun shines through breaking dawn a new day. Dew drops pitter-patter from above forming zero curvature wet patterns under foot. Broken silence from early arrivals, determined to fit in spaces are left circling endlessly for now. The neoprene change rush has mellowed as has the swell, with parking lot vibes nonchalant filled with endless chatter. Meandering to the wall for all to see with coffee in hand hoping for answers to burning questions. One look, one glimpse and a deep sigh, for we have once again resumed back to the regularly scheduled knee high program.

CHANNEL: Warm full sun above filling the void of drift wood crevasses. W swell has retreated along with the tide as formations are less than half of what they were only but two days ago. Knee high rollers, sluggishly come through leaving the two dozen searching for key timing. Inside is the best side; save you arms for the extra paddle.

PATCH: A patch brigade of water craft out number feathered friends, though all are tied for wave numbers. Soul searching by the meeting rock, as discussions are deep in thought trying to find the meaning. Those who believe will be rewarded as long as patience is practiced.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Beauty is a light in the heart.” - Khalil Gibran

Low viz / No viz as fog descends and surrounds. 50F and damp to wet but again we suffer no winds. Swell markers still activated at higher levels and collaborating to dispense stoke. Likely less than anticipated and more than typical though that is undetermined in the present moment. The chosen many find perches to stare into heaving waters while the others just rub wax, stretch limbs and don the neoprene armor. Seekers, tweekers, freakers and true believers have all disembarked in our little corner of the universe. Parking spaces have all be accommodated and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Those pursuing slides will not be alone so take a moment to come to terms with this simple fact.

CHANNEL: Keen eyes and sensory perception may be needed to find waves of merit and form. They are likely available just not visible to the naked eyes as morning murk limits depth and perception. Time, space and place will determine all outcomes and afternoon tides may have a distinct effect as well.

PATCH: Logger Parade to destinations unknown with hopeful sliders disappearing into the fog. It is out there and available for the taking. Make it yours and make it matter. During the quiet in-between moments, ask yourself, where is that beautiful house?

CLOSING AT 4PM TODAY !!!

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“There are shadows because there are hills.” - E. M. Forster

Dawn fades and reveals a new morning full of life and humanity in motion as neoprene is pressed over shoulders and all manner of watercraft is taken from bag, box and roof. Many circle endlessly in hopes of find a parking space not on occupy status and the sweet fragrance of Fall is in the air. Temp starts at 56F and the skies started clean and full of sun but now have clouded over while the winds rest peacefully at the moment. There is reason to make one’s way into the abyss but your journey will not be solitary by any means as overcrowding issues will be a repetitive theme throughout the weekend.

CHANNEL: Backlit silhouettes already reaching double digits mine the outside bar for dredgers flowing left and holding forth. The speed of the breaker outweighs the skill of most riders so an angled and determined approach is warranted. There are moments of chaos within the rides of merit and no matter which you seek you may end up with a bit of both.

PATCH: Those subjugating the Patch should bring strong shoulders and pack a lunch as you may be gone for a bit. The far outside reaches provide the results one seeks and shape and movements can be seen along the furthest reef outcroppings. Everything is being sampled by the multitudes even at the earliest hours. Be mindful while you search for treasures in the sea as others have discovered the same inviting shapes and will be all among them as the day rolls on.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Do not dare not to dare.” - C. S. Lewis

Unfiltered light under high coastal clouds as the sun seeks a wormhole in the sky through which to shine. Temps hospitable at 57F and the winds are silent and still. Water levels range low as we make connections at vital intersections and greet the new adventure that awaits. Swells a bit marginalized yet groomed and again the tide plays a crucial factor in your enjoyment of accessible options. Everybody knows that the dice are always loaded….

CHANNEL: Sleek and slicked breakers rush toward inevitability in leaden light. Form exists though function remains questionable save for the angled drop, rail grab and low crouch. An increase in water levels to better submerge bars may yield larger openings through which to slide but the later outgoing current may have other plans. Take heed, and don’t call me Shirley.

PATCH: You can’t always get what you want. You can’t always get what you want. You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, well, you might find, you get what you need.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first.” - William Shakespeare

Full fog, mist and moisture morning with calm wind and a middling temp of 51F. Already full of foreboding and heavy vibes with new swell arrivals firmly in place. Forget the attempts at tanning today as the sun has been thwarted and may not shine. Persistent shapes cast shadows under a veil of haze while a pulsing tide rises and may erase possibilities before they are achieved. The simplest acts may soon require fast footwork and a keen eye as the crowds grow thick.

CHANNEL: Grey gazes and moon phases overtake the slider’s soul as great quantities of water move in silent motion. The pursuit is real and any sled can realize their higher potential or greater defeat. The senses are working overtime and are needed under the miasma of atmospheric phenomena.

PATCH: The larger gathering place this fine morning as a solicited SW swell rounds into form and has water to work with. There will be no solace today only harried attempts upon shapes of merit. Test results will be posted later with names omitted to protect the innocent. Those not participating early may miss the window as the later tide retreats to a negative number.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Oftentimes, what you wind up learning is very different than what you expect.” - Anne Hathaway

Cloaked in atmospheric gray, the sun sneaks up from behind, highlighting iridescent edges, breaking dawn ever so slightly. A Monday on a Tuesday as most head into the fray for a shortened week of reality. A fortunate few hang on to the banks of a holiday, and ride out the last few moments of serenity now. Swelling tide hitting high upon the wall, carrying granules of sand back spray, while a small group of undecideds step back keeping toes dry for now. The mission is clear and a decision has been made, as intentions are set for afternoon.

CHANNEL: High tide coming in hot as levels swell beyond measure. W swell beginning to show, yet too much water to know what to do with. Foggy surroundings hamper sensors of the four wanderers treading water. Waiting is the name of the game and timing is key for the afternoon.

PATCH: Water walkers paddling to and fro left searching for the answers. A slippery seal holds the knowledge for what they seek as they watch him glide effortlessly by. Left hunting for the key to unlock the door, they single file towards shore.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” - Joseph Campbell

Golden yellow rising, stretching far and wide over peaks and valleys, warming near freezing earth below. A Sunday on a Monday as we honor those who have served, are serving and will serve our country. A selfless act of great strength and valor only a few brave possess. We thank you, we are proud of you and we honor you. We are the home of the free because of the brave.

CHANNEL: Swampy churn and burn with the in-coming WN swell creating strong currents in Channel proper. No rest for the wicked, as arms tire from staying in position without opportunity the go forward. Too much water for any wave to fully form as the sandy shore is quickly covered by water. Sit back and relax for now and wait till afternoon.

PATCH: A bakers half dozen of standing and prone paddlers hunt and peck for lackluster offerings. A race to see who can paddle most without moving in the right direction. Pick your potion wisely at the right time, try not to rush. For afternoon delights may hold the key to the bounty.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.” - Grateful Dead

Remnants of tie-died rainbow trails dance in the street and float on as memories from Grateful Dead Night, yet the feelings remain ever present. Leaves turn over ever so slightly in the easy breeze as temps begin at 48 with no sign of sun for now. Clumps of small groups gather, walking to forge for coffee with half and half as others with salty priorities head in the opposite direction. Sometimes the light’s all shinin’ on me. Sometimes, I can barely see. Lately, it occurs to me. What a long, strange trip it’s been.

CHANNEL: Half a dozen whack-a-moles bob and dip with the churning in-coming tide. W swell subtle and chill with a rogue peeler appearing in the shin height every 10 minutes or so. Glassy and calm, for no wind is felt under a gray thick covering. Burn off to begin by afternoon as tides run out faster then one hopes for. A small window opening for the day, slip through the crack at first sight.

PATCH: Sunny day, sweepin’ the clouds away. On my way to where the air is sweet. Can you tell me how to get? How to get to Sesame Street?

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“If you don’t gamble, you’ll never win.” - Aldous Huxley

Swallowed again in fog, murk and vapor with early temps of only 47F. Again the damp hangs on all surfaces and specifically dripping suits from past evening adventures. The mind wanders and wonders as connections are made then almost forgotten. There is shared uncertainty about what direction the tribe should go as if it matters in the grand scheme. Swells wane, tides rise and time slips through the hour glass so strike now or never.

CHANNEL: Largely abandoned but unjustly so as the steel pole stalwart watches over intermittent breakers in the mist. Moments in between become days and the moments with the mild shapes become memory. Do not forsake any ocean gifts as they are not unlimited.

PATCH: Here they gather en masse with more than a dozen competing for residual peaks from a swell past its expiration date. The usual suspects in the usual pursuits under a grey gaze from above. Out of focus and out of touch with reality the chase continues for blips of whitewater excursions.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“We learn the rope of life by untying its knots.” - Jean Toomer

Translucent light as filtered through a fog of permanence as we greet another morning in the village. No sun will shine upon largely vacant breakers but that does not deter the early seeker. Smooth shapes of minor consequence roll towards the inevitable with a scarcity of foam or flesh. Swells continue to cling to their coordinates but no growth has been achieved. Make a plan and hold your line while others seem destined for ordinary pursuits you may unearth a measure of stoke today.

CHANNEL: A rising tide presents the usual conundrum - form and shape to make a slider smile but now being buried under too much water as the volume outweighs the energy. Smoothness as the winds are off and worth more than a casual glance and second chance during the afternoon hours. This is the way, step inside….

PATCH: A lone sentinel down for adventure sets the standard and feasts upon all that the sea gives. Slides that traverse yards not feet are in the periodic offering but the patience of a silent monk is required. They are there for the taking and the drafts do no breaking at this time. The afternoon hours, as the lights grow dim, should contain the electric boogaloo.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
“Life is a sum of all your choices. So what are you doing today?” - Albert Camus

Dense fog and slight chill as we rise to no shine but a pervasive calm. The lightest of ESE winds and a temp of 49F masks the damp and soggy surfaces that surround. Though a determined few crustaceans have made the plunge into shrouded waters currently, that gamble is paying off in mild dividends on the rising tide. The winds are no factor in determining outcomes but water levels and swell productivity will have a final say in any stoke delivered.

CHANNEL: Second glances reveal askew stances taking hold upon breakers in the mist. With forms measuring in 10 yard increments there seems to be reason for quiet optimism. W swell has grown incrementally and may find pathways leading to our fair shores. Morning tide is not on your side so mind the churn and burn.

PATCH: 3 sea dogs bob, roll and sink to depths to swim undisturbed. 3 scallywags roam freely in search of friends or visitors with which to interact with. 3 mammals of stealth bide their time under flattened surfaces waiting for the right moment in time to slide and ride.
