Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You cannot do a kindness too soon." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

A serene calm before...  Overcast and a tad cool at 48F though the winds remain quiet and ocean surfaces unruffled.  A bit more NW swell reverberating among the buoys and a steep angled S continues undaunted.  Tides are drained out and Mr. Weatherman says heavy rain is coming tonight.  Take a dip, settle in, hunker down and keep your stoke burning.

CHANNEL:  A bit more to work with though low tide remains a limiting factor.  NW swell up a grade which has brought out the seekers, tweekers and streakers.  Loggers spread along the expanse in hopes a stray roller will find their location.  It may be worth the wait depending on how high you set your standards.

PATCH:  Skirt the exposed rocks to keep fins and feet intact.  Travel to deeper waters to find S swell prospects unfolding at times.  Like draped in velvet smooth with periodic undulations that require responses.  Bring your biggest board for the easy cruise action.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary." - Vince Lombardi

Welcome to Wednesday as we seek ways to get over the hump and find some downhill momentum towards the weekend.  Early skies beginning to clear and morning sun will soon find us.  Dead calm for now and 50F.  Waning swells and depleted tides keep options limited but appearances smooth.  Unsettled future so strike like the cobra if the opportunity presents itself.

CHANNEL:  Bottoming out tide showing mostly bends and contours in ankle deep waters.  Minor windswell staking claim as the only apparatus of propulsion.  Pursue depths across the Channel in the early hours or wait until the afternoon if you can bide your time.

PATCH:  Slack surfaces and inferior tides pushing the pursuit well outside.  A steeper S swell distributes over the meeting rock with foam and form but less function.  A rogue mix of watercraft and individuals enjoying the spring playground and what it currently offers.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"If you really want something, and really work hard, and take advantage of opportunities, and never give up, you will find a way.  Follow your DREAMS." - Jane Goodall

Early morning sky wearing gray socks for warmth as the sun tries to break through.  Calm and still as the winds from yesterday have blown away to far away lands.  A cold 45, chilling exposed ears and turning fingers white.  Bundle up in multiple layers as the spring feeling is taking the day off.  Walking to the waters open door, quivering voices can be heard from passing cars looking beyond, while keeping fingers crossed for good views.  Whether you are coming or going, hot liquids before the approach is a must.

CHANNEL:  Calm, sandy and glassy across the Channel as low tide just peaked.  NW and W swell fading this morning leaving teeny tiny waves in the foot height.  Too soon to tell if more water will improve conditions and wave formations.  For now sit back, relax and enjoy the silence.

PATCH:  Mellow yellow lake like views from rocky bottom shores.  Lackadaisical seals playing freeze tag around the far meeting rock as a lone seagull referees the game.  From what I hear a long time out is being called for instant replay.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I think you end up doing the stuff you were supposed to do at the time you were supposed to do it." - Robert Downey Jr.

A morning choir of songbirds tweeting in sync to the beat of the wind as the sun rises.  Fingerling clouds decorate the blue sky as a cool 48 nips at walking noses.  Waking up with sugar hangovers and memories of fluffy bunnies while remnants of candy wrappers are scattered about.  Eat some veggies, drink a green smoothie and take vitamins to replenish.  The first day of the week is upon us with a clean slate and endless possibilities.

CHANNEL:  Off shore winds creating white spray off the back of disorganized wave formations.  NW/W swell coming in from different angels forming various peaks and valleys in ankle to shin size.  Channel Island is still prominent as tide has yet to fill in.  Sea Drift side seems to be more choppy and texturized and not bigger in size.

PATCH:  Slow and low tempo can be seen across large patches of sharp rocks.  Far outside meeting rock marks the destination for powerhouse meetings between seagulls.  Practices of patience and time are this mornings mantras, for they just might pay off by this afternoon.

Hazy shades of yellow as the sun lifts up and through the blue sky.  A calm and warm 50 as the storm of Easter Egg seekers and April Fools pranksters are preparing for an all day celebration.  Broken egg shells mark the start as the journey begins.  Follow the trail of green Easter grass and blue berries in search of hidden surprises and interesting prizes.  You never know what you may find when you look hard enough.

CHANNEL:  Channel Island revealing itself as low tide peaked a bit ago.  Slow to fill in, confused sand bars sets the stage for the incoming NW and secondary SSW swell.  Multiple breaks trying to turn over though the ocean is slow moving with size in the shin to knee range on the sets.  It's a stable table kind of day as one lone paddle boarder is out running circles around a potato chip.

PATCH:  Here comes Peter Cottontail hoppin' down the bunny trail.  Try to do the things you should, maybe if you're extra good, He'll roll lot's of Easter eggs your way.  Oh, here comes Peter Cottontail hoppin' down the bunny trail, hippity hoppity happy Easter Day.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:

Pendulum tide swings under a blanket of fog,  keeping the full moon under wraps.  Winds remain tamped down and enthusiasm stays in check.  Outside air at 51F and the croak of stream frogs is a welcome tune.  Bundle up a bit now for the sun will shine later and give warmth for which we give thanks.  Fundamental swells in the water are wind borne and possessing of minor momentum.  Fully glassed off and more a function of tide and a matter of time if you seek slides today.

CHANNEL:  Tide filling in and exerting that extra nudge to move logs along.  Primarily exhibiting options along the Groin bar and Mali-Bo with farther reaches still consumed with clouds.  May swamp out by lunch but at least go for a paddle and baptise your head.

PATCH:  A steeper S swell of long period but low intensity may find corners upon which to flow and break - or not.  Possibilities exiss in limited amounts and may require and active imagination to meet one's needs.

Lake Bolinas in affect this morning as we see glassy waters reach up the ramp. Quiet and clam, all that is heard are the birds, and no sign of wind. The day is warming up quickly, with a current temperature of 60F and not stopping there. Apply your crystal coupons here for better luck of surf in the afternoon. As of now, too much water and too little movement.

CHANNEL:  Tide still on the rise and already we say enough! Glassy and full with minimal activity, save for a lucky left. Two take timely turns telling tales of better days. Try Wait.

Candy floss patterned sky as a beautiful yellow ball of sunshine rises.  The fifth day of the week is upon us and we can almost taste the weekend. Building blocks being delivered in mass quantities for future use as school buses pick up tiny passengers.  A warm start at 50 with promises of 73 by afternoon.  Thought bubbles of picnic lunches and frisbees can be seen everywhere as we rejoice in the warmth.  Remember to take a moment to wrap the sun around you and shine on!

CHANNEL:  High tide rising this morning with a NW/WNW swell trying hard to break through.  Sunny, glassy and warm with slow motion ocean in the Channel proper.  Shin high formations are gliding in on the Sea Drift side.  Happy chatter from a dynamic duo can be heard on the walk back, bring smiles all around.  For they already know in their hearts and never have to ask, they just go.

PATCH:  Under water reefs playing elementray games of Red Rover and Duck Duck Goose.  For now nothing can break the chain and everyone's sitting in the mush pot.

Morning glory sunshine reaching far across the bright blue sky as critters rejoice.  Deer dancing in the street with fox trotting not far behind.  Not a breeze insight and the air temp is a cool 46.  Empty parking on the approach to the edge where the sand meets the sea.  Today Mother Nature is showing off in all her glory and we can't thank her enough.

CHANNEL:  Mellow with shiny yellow reflections as the NW and secondary S swell have stage fright this morning.  With high tide just peaking, there's too much water for anything to form and break through.  As the tide recedes during the day log riding may be possible.  For now sit back on the warm sand, keep your fingers crossed and bask in the sun.

Cool crisp 41 degrees with an easy breeze flowing through nooks and crannies.  Blinding sunshine casting strong outlined shadows on damp terra firma.  Chirping birds filling the void of silence as the morning commences.  It's all about the state of mind, as the work week begins.  Team work, makes the dream work.

CHANNEL:  Blurred lines coming in at confused angles in the shin high range as the S swell recedes and welcomes in the new slow NW.  Texture on the surface from light winds creating a bit of confusion this morning.  Lacking in energy and slow to wake up, three lone paddle boarders are working hard for the ride.  Bring your absolute longest log if you want a chance at it.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"There's a time for everyone, if they only learn, that the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn." - Sir Elton John

Overnight showers make way for morning glory lemon yellow sunshine and a cold 39 chill.  Beyond blue stretching as far as the eye can see without a single gray veil in sight.  As Cyrus begins the weeks adventure, carrying precious cargo in search of perfect wave formations and carne asada, we live vicariously through them while holding down the fort.  Just like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives.

CHANNEL:  Defined lines rolling in with consistency as the WNW/S swell are awake and serving table side.  Waist in size as a bakers dozen are out basking in the blazing sun and soaking up the stoke. Main peak on the Sea Drift side as sand bars have migrated from the past weeks storms.  Plenty of fun for everyone.

PATCH:  High fives and pearly white smiles can be seen from the sandy shore.  A solid morning crew of 8 vibeing well with the oceans folk beat.  Fancy footwork taking place as steps are remembered from last nights hoedown.  Do-si-do your partner as you promenade and allemende left and right.

"Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay." - Dalai Lama

Fog with depth below while above the skies again begin to clear and fill the voids with blue.  Chilled out and down to 42F and damp underfoot.  Feral mammals rest in tall grasses as silent observers not easily disturbed.  Generous NW swell with designs on shore landings has early endeavors underway.  Dropping tide will bottom out to ground zero by lunch so early is best and later is likely.

CHANNEL:  Emergent rollers finding substructures upon which to fold.  Channel bar feeling the beneficial vibes and sending out initial signals.  Redeeming in shape and size though not overly large on a general scale.  Waist high breakers if you're into knowing actual height and rideable in a very real sense.

PATCH:  Early posse playing hunt and seek with re-angled S swell maybe a bit too steep to properly develop.  Still smooth as winds remain nil but size has come down so long logs like mo better.  Plenty of water to keep float testing progressing towards positive outcomes.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Success is learned, success is practiced and then it is shared." - Sparky Anderson

Cool and dry is what we spy as another day in the life begins.  44F with clearing skies showing propensity for sunshine and blue.  A little swell injection and smoothing surfaces bodes well for the seeking sliders.  Tide on the drain which helps in some areas and hurts in others.  Beach sands have leveled out and new sandbars are in formulation.  Today could certainly be your day.

CHANNEL:  Late afternoon and now early light reveal movement with merit and size as well.  The deeper Channel bar holding court to a degree with lefts and rights graciously distributed.  Inner Groin bar shows a reduction in stature but a form worth exploration.  No connections on these transit lines and wave height shows a range with chest + on the higher side of the scale.

PATCH:  Flush with water and a new S swell with hints of W picked up along the journey.  Calmed down and softened edges as the winds have abated and the hill protects.  Ladies Lefts getting some action from a weekday regular while the inside right is bidden but un-ridden.

Schizophrenic atmospheric rivers bringing soaking rains and wind in large amounts.  Swirling gusts from all 4 directions affords little space to hide and remain dry.  All swells storm driven and disconnected from reality.  Warm at 56F a single positive.  Potential for mud and rock slides looms so exercise caution on the roads and look for alternate outside activities.  A little common sense will go a long way today.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work." - John Lubbock

Large raindrops falling in steady tempo from a dark gray sky is the starting beat for today's melody.  Warmer today at 54 with slippery streets and muddy walkways.  A slight wind floating through and filling in the empty spaces in between.  Drive with caution and walk steady with one foot in front of the other.

CHANNEL:  WNW and S swell buoy reading, though have yet to appear to the eye.  Calm and flat as far as the eye can see.  For now the ocean isn't responding to the incoming storm and the wind has yet to make its mark on the surface.  Waves are clocking in at toe high and slow on the approach.  Fishermen are taking the day off and no ones is out in the rain.

PATCH:  Keep moving along folks, nothing to see here.  Instead, try a hot cup of tea and picking up that book you've been meaning to read.  It's a good day to get lost in the pages.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.  Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." - Helen Keller

Cold breeze rolling over prickly chicken skin as the morning yellow sun rises over the hills.  Clear wide open blue ceilings causing the 39 degree air temp to feel even colder.  Bundle up buttercup as today we start anew with clear intentions and new adventures.  Try something new and explore the unknown while keeping in mind the tried and true.

CHANNEL:  Low tide peaking in the earlier hours revealing an island sand formation in the center of Channel proper due to sand bar storm movement.  Dwindling WNW swell mixed with off shore wind is creating knee high sluggish waves on the sets.  White back spray off peaks and ruffled texture on the face.  Currently four fishermen out.

PATCH:  Whether you see the glass as half full or half empty, the meeting rock is open for business for free fin removal service this morning.  From what I hear, there is a two for one special.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Life is much bigger, grander, higher, and wider than we allow ourselves to think." - Queen Latifah

Wispy fog through trees creating Kodak moments for those who stop to capture.  Remnants of lucky charms and lacy green bring back memories of yesterday's celebration.  Mix your own potion of hair of the dog as today we dry out.  Blue hues in all colors reflect on the oceans surface with the sun's welcome warmth at 45.  Keep in mind and remember, patty cake is always the name of the game.

CHANNEL:  Tiny peelers in knee size formation rolling through the Channel proper.  The S and WNW swell seem to be hitting the snooze button and sleeping in this morning.  Lacking in energy and slow on the peek, there's more paddling than pop-ups.  If an upper body workout is what you are aiming for, then today you're in luck.

PATCH:  Micro golden nuggets leftover from last nights corned beef and cabbage are on this mornings menu.  Be adventurous, and add egg on top with extra hot sauce for variety and spice.  Whether or you hold your fork with your right or left, remember to chew before swallowing.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Ever tried.  Ever failed.  No matter.  Try again.  Fail again.  Fail better." - Samuel Beckett

Clear and cool in the moment which is subject to dramatic change.  Blue skies and sun pockets for now and 41F with promising light NE winds.  New blooms and growth in progress with all plants drinking their fill and more.  Randomized downpours are the norm and now expected at any point in the day.  NW swell has increased in size and range of travel.  New steep angled S may not infiltrate until higher tides allow.  Smoother surfaces invite the opportunity.  Today may bring you some Irish luck.

CHANNEL:  Rising tides advance and nudge things along in the early hours.  Enough emphasis to get Mali-Bo activated though size there remains functionally small.  Still following bottom contours and flowing right rather than left with shorter rides but larger size.  More water brings other options but has it's limits when the level is too much.

PATCH:  Pioneered at dawn with stand tall paddlers outnumbering all others.  Loggers and seal squadron begin to penetrate and populate with designs on the inner precincts as the water rises.   A smoothness that is just worth a look and stare with risen sun lighting the ways.  Rights reveal themselves if your location allows and remember I invented Roll It.
