Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"With a labyrinth, you make a choice to go in - and once you've chosen, around and around you go.  But you always find your way to the center." - Jeff Bridges

Morning bird A-Capella sing-a-longs floating high in the sky, etching circles through wispy clouds.  A cool 45 degrees walking to shore until the sun's beautiful warmth hits full force.  Calm for now as the trickle-in from travelers for holiday celebrations are in motion.  Revel in this peace and state of mind for the moment.  Kick-off the week on the right foot with clear intentions and open hearts.

CHANNEL: Serene, glassy and micro over ankle.  Tides not having an effect on sand bars in the groin as the WNW swell has decided to take the day off.  Low key energy felt from the beach and can be seen with the eye.  No one out just yet except for fishermen hoping to be in the right position for today's catch.  Maybe, just maybe with the longest of logs, rides can be had.  Maybe.

PATCH:  Bobbing seagulls pretending to be wack-a-moles as container ships float off in the distance.  Walking across the green wall feeling the ocean spray from below awakes the soul.  Use the sun wisely, recharge crystals with the energy in hopes of positive outcomes tomorrow.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Creativity is intelligence having fun." - Albert Einstein

We embark on a brave and bold new adventure and take our levels up one notch.  As the calendar page turns changes become revealed and like a caterpillar emerging from its chrysalis we seek a metamorphosis.  A clear visage is upon us as the day starts pure and warm.  Early, early risers will benefit from higher tides and better slides.  Though the predominant wave generation comes from a NW windswell there does remain a steep S swell creeping in and peeping the scene.

CHANNEL:  Getting too low and nearing a no go as the later morning tide drops below sea level.  A body whomping exercise may be in the offering for those needing to strengthen legs and overall constitution.

PATCH:  With a steeper angle S swell in play there is truly some resolution and apparitions.  Long and languishing rides are in the offering though size remains contained just below waist high.  Dropping tide will soon shut the door until the afternoon return. I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Until you value yourself, you won't value your time.  Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it." - M. Scott Peck

Beach combers and treasure seekers unite as your tide book shows a climatically low tide for your pleasure.  The game is afoot but only if what you seek lies at the bottom of the now exposed ocean floor.  Two days in a row of perfectly sunny conditions and light ESE winds to spice things up.  I feel heat coming and it starts this morning at 57F.  Still have a hunky NW swell out to sea but water levels are currently below lacking and one must languish until later.

CHANNEL:
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco,
this ain't no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey dovey,
I ain't got time for that now

PATCH:  Save for a dynamic duo this space is un-engulfed and devoid of energetic surf.  Large triangular rock ridge protrudes and extends well into the lineup.  A murmur of S swell is out there but unable to show in current conditions. Don't call it a comeback but waiting until the late morning tide arrival is highly recommended.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice." - Bob Marley

Supremely sunny and welcoming morning as we break free once again from the rain and welcome spring and all its beauty.  ESE winds and a mixture of lingering swells has the masses out en masse.  Ultimate negative low tide for the dawn cracker crew has things on hold and clamped down tight as less than zero water holds no options. Like all good things waiting for the surf today is no different and as the tide fills in further rejoicing will occur.  For now 57F and pristine weather in which one should bask.

CHANNEL: Ankle breakers and fist shakers but no money makers in the early bright light of the day.  Too low to go so a Try Wait motto must be employed.  With a NW swell dancing around this precinct will show later.  Seadrift spinners off in the distance are a more than worthy alternative and will get you some paddling strokes along the way.

PATCH:  Visual specks well out past the meeting rock materialize as surfers seeking.  Smoothness and no rudeness but mind ALL the exposed rocks as they are present and toothy. Misplaced breakers of ordinary size and shape are tried and tamed or are they?

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You're only given a little spark of madness. You musn't loose it." - Robin Williams

Bleak, dreary and wet; water, ocean, rain; clouds, mist, windshield wipers. All this and more....what a day to be alive! Some may say that they are done with this weather but let us not forget that April showers bring May flowers; besides, it seems the rain is not sticking around to hang all day. Out in the ocean a nay sayer is not found here today. As for the waves scientists have been studying them for so many years and we still don't quite understand them...who's to say? There is a SW swell proposed to build now coming in short amplitude with a long period while a NW may build for more speed but it's still in that go-between. Rocking a 58F tan amidst cloudy skies and a drizzle that is proposed to come and go. We are here, they are there, where are you?

CHANNEL: A few numbers here getting the rock and roll hang of it all. A body surfer, some long boarders and the groin. What a party, don't forget the sunscreen, beach blankets and towels for we're in for it today. Up, down, left and right go far or near just never quit. Carpe diem.

PATCH:  As it is known, wave energy moving through a medium is not actually moving the medium itself. There are shadows of rollers out here but the water itself is not advancing, only the wave energy...unless it is breaking on the sand and only then is it being displaced by a fraction. Never near, some far. Lost in the haze. Alone. Dazed and confused.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Quite simply: the ocean doesn't subscribe to the orderly explanations that we would like it to." - Susan Casey

I am greeted this morning with a parking lot full of cars and a sea of people but this is not the typical surfer morning chaos for this lot seem to be beginners pure and true. There is excitement in the air, smiles to be shared and sunshine about; the temperature welcomes us this morning at 60F and the winds that look strong inland seem to be keeping calm-ish out in the water. Calm waters and a mix of fading NW swell and SW winds could grant us some decent rollers but as the morning continues it seems our hopes may be dashed as the sun is blocked and the winds pick up.

CHANNEL: An abundance of foam boards head over to this area as instructors, intermediates and beginners alike rejoice in the sunshine. Later in the morning this area may present itself but the con may be the high numbers of people....just as in life, it seems to be a give and take.

PATCH:  Bring out the long boards and catch the rollers for they have only just begun. Frequency here as it's a classic patch morning and if you've followed Patch Adams into the endless sea of gratitude you shall never have a bad day in the water.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Slowed and sedated with those in the know elated.  Peaking NW swell finding a foothold while a background south keeps all others slip sliding.  Tidal swings and morning bird sings under overcast skies with clearing potential.  Temp of 54F and just a touch of SW winds only causing ripple effects felt for thousands of miles.  The usual suspects and the morning regulars exult in the absence of mayhem.

CHANNEL: Morphing crests heading left and holding form and shimmery shine.  Peace pockets and bottle rockets and maybe a fish to ride if you fancy.  Hail or fail and hold your rail as you duck and tuck or run and turn.  Incoming tide seems to be helping with and extra surge and waist high or better waves are available.

PATCH:  Calf burners and no turners with rollers situated to stand and deliver. Slip sliders for log riders with silken faces both in and out of the water.  Don't bide your time for the time is now.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Some people never go crazy.  What truly horrible lives they must lead." - Charles Bukowski

Psychosomatic t.v. static and calisthenic micro-management, it's a doozy of a beautiful day out here. I'm talking sunshiny eyeballs and slow jazz playing crab claws. Cute puppies on coat tails and neon pink top sails. If you think life is weird please don't shave your beard.
Crystal champagne clear skies in this salty town with a lil' extra of those salty lumps for all you water bathing ripple ridders. Warm and wonderful out here with three people wearing life jackets for absolutely no reason. High tides this morning adding a proper amount of moisture for those having early meditation in the big blue church. With the smell of love in the air the oceans sending some puckered lips for us to kiss.  (Broken glass on brighton, skip at own risk.)

CHANNEL: Little chummy runners messing up my bad day. Only a handful of humanoids and some semi section-y sandbars looking as defined as a dictionary... that's only slightly out of date. Plenty of morning glass and passed gas for everyone so share. As if driving, when turning right, please look left and give way. No bad blood boys and girls and get a little belly high cranker to yourself.

PATCH:  Street cats and beach rats rejoice rocks and lego blocks are submerged. Far outside rollers passing into cruzy inside growers all speckled with old easter peeps. Plant a tree, bring your log and get those toes front and center. Juvenile delinquency will not be tolerated but a well matured delinquent will receive a bag of gold chocolate coins at the shop from 9:45am-10:22pm. 16ft SUP tandem fishing tournament will begin at outside meeting rock tonight. Bring your fun hats for a ankle chaser up to a waist high racer.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The eagle has no fear of adversity.  Be like the eagle and have a fearless spirit of the conquerer!" - Joyce Meyer

Lyrids meteor peaks.  Older NW swell depletes.  New S swell creeps.  All factors are at hand and emphatically beyond our control.  Let free will guide and Jah provide as we decipher the possibilities.  Subtleties become known under overcast skies and no winds to commence the morning.  Temps of 50F are a moderate welcome for bare feet.  High tide pushing forwards and up has the momentum slowed down.  No shortage of vehicles unloading their wares as sliders get ready to post up for the day.

CHANNEL: Little eyes spy on the inside a wave rolling through Mali-Bo with the incoming tide.  As it crests this too will become but a memory you will wonder ever existed.  With the NW swell faded one must reconfigure expectations then attempt to meet or exceed.  Knee high.

PATCH:

Say when you get down
Look to your left
Say when you get up
Look to your right
Figure out the puzzle
Make sure the pieces fit tight

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

With the haze of yesterday gone one can begin to focus on important matters at hand.  Our spirits are lifted by the westerly swell fusion that delves to deliver stoke in both localities.  Light E winds for grooming purposes and clear skies filled with sun and prophecies.  Temps start at 44F and will warm gradually to a moderate level.  High tide peaking but not stopping the seeking for those on the hunt for slides.

CHANNEL: A level headed approach will yield rewards today with some waves being cleaner than others.  All will provide adequate propulsion and the sandbars seem split on which direction it prefers.  Wave heights ranging from thigh to waist + as the tide tops out and ebbs.  Full of reflective energy from above and kinetic energy below.

PATCH:
It's hypnotizing
It sends me to sleep
No one talks to anyone else
It's frightening
Everybody's minds are blank
Oh - oh hypnotizing

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." - Albert Einstein

Deeper meanings reveal themselves in the early sunlight that warms a steaming earth.  Peaking, building and fading swells all coalesce today to offer options in varying degrees.  The sun is winning the weather battle waged last night and the morning temp of 53F is readily rising.  No winds currently and an expanding lineup as the hours pass.

CHANNEL: One single solitary surfer seeking serenity surrenders to the source and desiring slides upon a higher tide.  Limited by water levels yet yielding periodically with waves and warbles that appear and retreat almost simultaneously.

PATCH: A bit too much early water.  A few too many population but here is where the main draw lives.  Silky traces on outside faces and a touch of S swell getting the summer vibe feeling flowing.  Marching up towards waist high and a conglomeration of water craft taking part in the offerings.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor." ~ Elon Musk

A nice breeze carrying the salt air greets me this morning as I walk towards the beach promising for a new day. The sun is coming through, warming the air while the wind stays at bay; spring has come it seems. Little SW / NW swell combinations bring hope to us all that today will be the day, the sun stays to play.

CHANNEL: Not yet but it seems to hold a whisper of a promise that the waves will come. Let us hope the wind stays away, the clouds drift on and that this area produces some goodies.

PATCH: Long, lean, and not very mean waves are beginning to be brought into view as a handful of surfers enter the water. All equipped with longboards as the morning waves call for it, these guys and girls are in it for good time with our dearest friend.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

Unlike most whom roam this Earth, I have chosen to stick with the childish joy of adventuring in the rain and it seems to me that I am not alone for I am greeted with the sight of fellow surfers this morning - rain or shine we will be there. No wind, light rain, 57F temp, and a small mix of SW swell / fading NW swell...yes, no, maybe so ? A restless feel fills the ocean this morning but it leaves the question - is it just beginning to boil, or is it simmering down? I suggest you walk those steps to the beach, climb the stairs with the rusted rails and take a peak yourself. Enjoy the serenity, the sights and smells; take what you can get.

CHANNEL: The ocean lost some weight throughout the early morning with promises of a continual decrease - the channel feels it as the water clears and the surf disappears.

PATCH:  Surfers near and far this morning but, as in life, it seems that those who worked the hardest are getting the best waves. Go the extra mile before the strength of the waves peter-out; push yourself and you may find that the hard work pays off.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"As long as there is coffee in the world, how bad can things be?" - Cassandra Clare

Post egg hunt wave search likely yielding better results as we still have NW + SW swell mixtures and no winds or rain at present.  Wet, overcast, grey and dreamy with air temps matching water at 54FNot a day for basking in the sun but certainly a day worth looking at the option of some slides and stoke.

CHANNEL: Undefined and unrefined with limited options for long rides but enough bump and roll to lure a pack of 8 into the sea.  Shifted more along towards the boat ramp with aspects and objects weilding watery washings to those venturing to gainStill sloppy but not stormy and generally smoothing in the lack of wind.  Thigh high + or better with overall shape being poor.

PATCH:  A scattering and smattering of peaks and population with SUPs and loggers co-mingling easily.  Low tide approaching and starting to both reveal rocks and push waves out farther.  Enough to pique interest and potential unlimited.

Happy Easter to all! The wind is blowing and the day is gray. Thick clouds cover the sky keeping dark in and the sun out. Rain begins to fall and the forecast is keeping the masses indoors. Cold and windy, current temperature being 54F and not seeming to rise. Take today to be with family, give thanks, stay indoors. Today is not a beach day.

Mixed skies bring mixed messages as we ease into spring time living. The sun shines brightly through pockets while the morning temps dip and hold.  A glorious day to get out and turn your face skyward as soon we shall have more rain to contend with.  Preparations are in effect for the great rabbit's visit and the hunt is on for waves and eggs alike.  Both swells deplete themselves and a rogue low tide tests one's will to persevere.  44F now and will warm into the 60s.  No winds for now and the skies are partially blue.  Gilbert, rise and shine!

CHANNEL: Wide vastness of exposed sand with our early morning low tide sucking dry.  A time for beach combers to find treasure and lovers to take long walks.  Not nearly enough water to fathom a rideable wave as one must wait the long wait until early afternoon to attempt a slide or three.  Shore lappers only.

PATCH:  A lessening in quantity and quality as swells fade and waters retreat.  Exposure of rocks at an all time high with an opposite effect upon the waves.  Knee knockers and calf rockers for your Saturday morning enjoyment.  The sun is out in all its glory and there are participants in the sport of kings making worthy efforts with borderline success.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Make the most of the best and the least of the worst." - Robert Louis Stevenson

Supremely settled as the weather now takes a Jekyll turn for the pleasant.  Chilled out and down to 41F with sunny clear skies and very light NE winds.  Ripe with prospects and the hunt is on.  Peaking NW swell searching for adequate water levels upon which to bestow some goodness while a small but longer period S piggybacks along for the ride.  Everything feels fleeting so seize the moment before it passes.

CHANNEL: Another early morning low tide situation to contend with as we hit dead low and hover.  More swell in the water shows the promise in the shallows but a true rideable wave will need to be sought out across the pond in the Seadrift territory.  Afternoon tides rise to a respectable level and should bring more waves and people overall.

PATCH:  An amalgamation of influences has brought both sunshine and slides in varying quantitiesGlossy faces reflecting the beams above and transmitting a measure of stoke to those in the pool.  Scattered but no matter as it keeps the field spread across an uneven range.  Log rider waves in the thigh to waist high region can be obtained and the incoming tide should delve to improve things in a general sense.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.  Live the life you've imagined." - Henry David Thoreau

Another day, another dousing as more rain falls in moderation.  One senses the potential for clearing as sky pockets in the distance appear blue, sunny and inviting.  Without winds the drops fall straight and unwavering to earth.  Balmy at 52F and surrounded by mist and wonder in the clearing light.  A new NW swell will begin filling in and joining forces with the current SW windswell from earlier storms. The rain tastes especially sweet as you walk along the beach and morning low tide holds no secrets.

CHANNEL: Low tide / No tide as we hit rock bottom.  Less equals less with not quite enough water to orchestrate more than worm-burner slop chop.  Incoming tide and filling NW swell gives one hope that the afternoon may yet hold opportunity.

PATCH:  Most all rocks exposed from the morning tidal retreat.  Hours must pass until enough water returns to make this locality more persuasive.  Try coffee now and contemplate a pre-lunch revisit.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Could you describe the ruckus, sir?" - Brian, The Breakfast Club

What a day to be alive - there are rainbows on the road, green rolling hills on the sides and surf in the ocean. The fog encapsulates us out here in Bo, making us feel as if we are in a world of our own. We're sitting out here in comfy temperatures, a time where the fog and drizzle of rain allow our mind to wander. There is SW winds coming into our area bringing the waves while the rain deters the people, get it while you can for only the storm knows what it shall bring for this gathering. First glance tells you go home, but if you look past the cover you may find a gem.

CHANNEL: Some waist high waves offer up to a short ride and even shorter paddle - quick, continuous and plenty here.

PATCH:  From first glance it seems to be disoriented and yet if you know where to look it is there. Way out yonder thou shall see a sight that resembles logs, seals, or men - whatever your imagination / eye sight allows - and it is here where you shall find a few beauties.

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"I wanted a challenge, something daring. I felt suddenly, that the price of my sense of belonging...would be my sense of self." - Ayaan Hirsi Ali

I am greeted with the sound of the ocean this morning - it is not menacing, it is not pumping but you can hear the power. Four open parking spots, two surfers (one who seems to think he's surfing OB) and one man decked out in pajamas are the sights my eyes catch as I head towards the beach. There are SE winds pushing into Bo but not enough to offer up the best goodies; it's a turnabout Tuesday here - stewy waters, overcast skies, slight rain, temp. in the mid-50s and surf. Do you relish in the comfort of your home or do you send?...take your pick.

CHANNEL: Once more I see a newbie struggling to paddle as the waves impede upon him/her and yet, the heart fills with joy whilst watching one take to the ocean to learn her ways. Some thigh high surf is offered up - take it while you can for we all know, come summer there will be no solitude in these waves.

PATCH:  Go for a paddle, past the rock that prevails the tides, off into Fiddler's Green - this shall be the locus in which thou shall find companionship amongst fellow travelers and the element that you desire.
